About HSC

Hunterdon Sailing Club was founded in 1964 as a not-for-profit volunteer organization dedicated to promoting the sport of sailing. HSC is located on Spruce Run Reservoir, a 1290 acre state park with 15 miles of shoreline for recreation in Clinton, NJ.  The club sponsors training programs for youth and adults, organizes weekly races,  and holds annual regattas for the enjoyment of both novice and veteran sailors.

Members include individuals and families, who always wanted to sail and have been looking for a chance to learn, as well as experienced sailors who are looking to improve their skills through competitive racing.  The club offers a robust calendar of events throughout the sailing season from late April through October with instruction, boats for loan to club members, and opportunities for frequent sailing. Fleet races are held every Sunday afternoon for the HSC fleets, which include Sunfish, Force 5, and Flying Scots.

HSC hosts regional and national competitions for specific sailboat classes.  Social events include picnics and grill-outs under our canopy by our storage shed, family fun days, and after event get-togethers at local restaurants.  As an added benefit, Spruce Run State Park is one of the few that offers boat/trailer storage for a seasonal fee so your boat can be on-site and ready to sail close to launch ramp and waters edge.  Here is a wonderful opportunity to spend more time sailing close to home and less time driving to the shore.
