Boat parking applications are available from State Park

Applications for boat parking spaces have arrived in the mail. If you are new to the area and interested in keeping your boat at the park, you can call the main office at (908) 638-8572 or visit them to pick up a copy.

Some tips from those who’ve been through this before:

  • Spaces are assigned on a first come, first served basis. You are not guaranteed of getting a spot.
  • The park begins accepting applications when the office opens at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1st. In recent years, spots have gone fast. Last year, all but 2 spots were assigned by the end of the day.
  • If you can’t be there in person, fax your form on March 1st. Don’t bother mailing it. If the park receives your application before March 1st, they are required to send it back to you. If they receive it after March 1st, odds are the spaces are all gone.
  • And a new requirement this year: The park requires that you provide a copy of your trailer registration along with your application. They will accept applications that are expiring in March but ask that you provide a copy of your updated registration once you have it. If you do not store your boat on a trailer, simply write “hand dolly” in the space where your trailer license plate is requested.
