Join us Monday July 4th for the Little Brown Jug Regatta followed by a picnic hosted by the Force 5 fleet. All boat types will race together in a staggered start determined by the Portsmouth rating system in one race encompassing the whole lake. The first boat to reach the finish line wins. Prizes will be given for first place and a best in fleet to fleets having 3 or more boats. Skipper’s meeting is at 11 am. Everyone is welcome to join the picnic afterwards (starting around 2 pm) even if they did not race. Grilled chicken, hamburgers, and hotdogs are on the menu, plus potluck (If your last name starts with A-M bring a side, N-Z a desert). The weather forecast looks nice so come out, race, and/or socialize. It’s an excellent way to spend the 4th of July. **Note** The line to enter the park is usually longer early morning so it’s advised to come around 10 am. or later. If the beach parking has filled up and the toll attendant is turning people away, notify them you are going to the sailing club.
