There are many ways you can keep sailing after your sailing class! Come out to the lake often; ask other members for help – we all love to sail and to share our experience with you! Read on below:
Look for Club emails, check the website www.sailhsc.org, follow us on Twitter @SailingHSC, or on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/SailHSC
COACHED PRACTICE: Not a class, but a little extra help with some practice sailing. An experienced member will be with you in one of the skiffs for some practice in the cove. You can use the club Sunfish (see below). No need to pre-register and no fee.
Wednesday afternoons, July 17th, 24th & 31st, August 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th. Come for help with setting up your boat between 5-6 pm; on the water 6 pm to dusk. Afterwards, join the Sunfish Twilight series racers for pizza at a local restaurant!
USE CLUB BOATS: Club members can use the Club’s Sunfish boats during Club activities (always on a first come, first served basis). See the handbook for the boat use rules. Sign them out in the book in the front of the shed. Be sure to put everything away properly by the time the club activity finishes (and before the shed is locked!).
Regular club sailing (racing days, you can race but you don’t have to – you can just practice, too!):
- Every Sunday through Oct 6th – come between 12-12:30 pm to have some help in carrying the boat out of the shed / setting up. (Racing boats leave the shore at 1:00 pm and come back about 4:00-4:30 pm)
- Every Wednesday through August 14th – Sunfish Twilight racing – come between 5:00 – 5:30 pm to have some help in carrying the boat out of the shed / setting up. (Racing boats leave the shore at 5:45 pm and come back at dusk – and join us afterwards at a local restaurant for pizza!)

All club activities are run by member volunteers, so come out on your date to help on the Race Committee – NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED! We go out in the skiff and also the pontoon boat (See Which Won).
The race committee lead person will train you on-the-job; bring a life jacket, lunch, etc. If you are not assigned a date, please volunteer. We need help every Sunday through October 6th – come between 12-12:30 pm to set up, and expect to stay until about 5:00 pm).
