From the HSC Executive Committee: Dear Hunterdon Sailing Club Members and Families As you are all aware, governments, schools, companies, and media outlets around the world have been monitoring and reacting to the spread of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). We too have been doing so, and this note is to update you on what steps we have decided to take in an effort to protect the health and safety of our members and community. Out of an abundance of caution our current plan is to postpone all club activities until it has been deemed safe to proceed by our local and state government. Please stay tuned to this website and future email notifications for updates on the resumption of club events. In the meantime, it is our hope that all of our families remain healthy and out of harm’s way. |

Could you please give an update on the HAB situation
HAB is still present at Spruce Run Resevoir and the warnings signs are still up. The NJWSA has approved a project with biochar socks (large sacks of charcoal) to filter the water entering the lake. The timeline for the project is earmarked for August. The buoy that gathers data in the middle of the lake at a depth of 3 feet was removed for the winter and is currently being reinstalled. Once redeployed, data from the buoy will be available at the following links:
Here are some additional resources from USGS that discuss the buoy projects:
