The Commodore’s Cup will be held tomorrow, Saturday, May 22nd. It was established in 1969 and is one of two regattas that are used to find the most outstanding HSC skipper of the year. The regatta is open to all HSC members in their own or club-owned boats of any class. It is sailed using both the combination of all the club’s fleets under the prevailing time handicap system. All boats however must adhere to class regulations. The regatta will consist of three races but one race can constitute the regatta if conditions become unfavorable. The skippers meeting will be at 11:00 AM and the first race will commence out on the lake around 12:00 PM.
If you are planning to use a club Sunfish for the regatta, please arrive before the Skipper’s Meeting to sign-in with the RC. You will need to get your boat off the rack and start rigging before the RC leaves the beach. Club boats are only available for use in the regatta and in the vicinity of the club RC and safety boats. If you arrive late, there will be no one left on the beach to unlock a club boat.
