Rookie Regatta

All new sailors are invited to participate in the Rookie Regatta. Arrive at 10 am to rig your boat. Skippers meeting is at 10:30. Practice race starts at 11:15. First scored race starts at 11:30.
The pre-race will consist of an on shore primer on the basics of racing and a practice race on the water. All 2023 Learn to Sail students are eligible to participate as well as people who crew for others and people who haven’t raced before. The 16 club sunfish are available on a first come first served basis. There will be three short races. The winner will be be scored by the total of all three races. There will be a meeting and announcement of winner on shore at the conclusion of the races.
Current forward is favorable: steady wind at 7 with gusts to 14. Bring your hat, sunscreen, PDF (always wear your PDF), water, and gloves. Questions can be addressed to Jon Darvill at training@sailhsc.org
