SANJL Sunfish Regatta – May 15thOn May 15th Hunterdon Sailing Club will be hosting the second SANJL regatta of the season. This is sailed in Sunfish only.
Usually the SANJL regattas make up a series of 4 events with scoring daily and over the course of the series to determine an overall champion. This year the events are stand alone and awards only given for the daily event.The entry fee is $20; $10 for skippers under 16 for the day. The skippers meeting is at 10:00 with races to start as soon as feasible after that. Four races maximum will be sailed with no throw-outs. Lunch will be on the water.
The fleet will be divided into Championship and Challenger divisions, skippers may self-identify which division they prefer to sail in at entry. Awards will be for the top 5 for each division All CDC and NJ COVID-19 guidelines in effect on May 15th, as well as Hunterdon Sailing Club rules, will be followed. Masks will be worn when required. The most conservative guidelines will be followed, presumably these will be for unvaccinated people. Club boats may be used, however participants must be rigged and ready by 10:00. This is a great way to meet people from other lakes and to learn more about Sunfish sailing and racing.
