Thank You! HSC Work Day

We had a GREAT turnout for Saturday’s Spring Work Day, with dozens of new and old members turning out to make sure HSC is ready for the 2013 season! (Photos on the HSC Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SailHSC )

Here are just a few of the highlights:

· Our beloved See Which One is fully restored after Hurricane Sandy. Gordon and Angelo led a team to finalize the hardware, while Bill S. and Ted had an excellent adventure figuring out how to assemble the new roof! Sunday Race Committees will now enjoy new railings and a brand new bimini top – all in HSC Green & White, of course!

· Doug & Susan led a complete assembly line of Sunfish-sail-installers, providing our HSC Club Sunfish with brand new sails for the 2013 season!
· Rich guided new members through the bubble-filled process of leak-testing our Sunfish hulls.

· Charlie, Noreen, and the entire Kiernan family readied our safety boats for the season – I am not sure if they have ever been so clean, great work!!

· Hats off to Mike W., who built and installed a new and improved rack system for all of the Sunfish rudders and centerboards.

· And lastly, EVERYONE picked-up See Which One and carried her to the water – thankfully the water was a lot closer than at the end of 2012!

And those are just the big projects – EVERYONE that came out on Saturday was eager to help and found a way to pitch in: rigging, sweeping, cleaning, painting, installing motors, caulking boats, carrying boats, organizing, filling tires, counting flags, etc.! Your enthusiasm was greatly appreciated!

Based on Saturday’s performance, it is going to be a great season — see you on Sunday for Opening Day!
