Saturday, August 18 is the 2012 Rookie Sailing Regatta, the sailing race for the club’s newest sailors. The regatta is open to all new skippers, including those from the Learn-to-Sail program. The racing will be done in Sunfish, with club boats available on a first-come-first-served basis. The regatta is run just like normal Sunday Series racing, except for the time of day: Skippers’ meeting at 11:00 am to explain the racing to rookies, and then races starting at about 12:30 pm. The plan is to hold 3 to 4 races. Race Committee volunteers should plan to arrive 10:30 for setup.
