Celebrating 50 Years on Spruce Run Reservoir
It is February and the start of our 50th year of sailing on Spruce Run Reservoir. Before we know it, the weather will be warming up and our thoughts will turn to sailing. The Club has great plans in place for 2014!
Our first Member Meeting will be held on Sunday, February 23rd, at Riley and Jake’s Restaurant (formerly the Sunset Inn) at 1831 New Jersey 31, Clinton, NJ. The meeting starts at 12:30 for socializing (you can order lunch) and 1:30 for the agenda. This meeting will focus on upcoming events on the 2014 HSC sailing calendar, sail training and fleet reports. A representative of Spruce Run State Park will provide an update on Park procedures and events. This presentation will be just in time for the State Park’s Summer Boat Storage sign-up on March 1st.
Our second Members Meeting will be on Sunday March 23rd, also at Riley and Jake’s. Both meetings will start at 12:30 with socializing, lunch and we’ll kick off the agenda at 1:30.
Online Membership: Last year we introduced on-line membership and training sign-up and it was a huge success. We will shortly set up 2014 membership and training registration links on this website.
Additional information about the season will be in the February edition of the Foc’s’le Newsletter which will be released shortly. We look forward to seeing you soon, either at the membership meetings or out on the water in the upcoming sailing season.
